After we left Mesa Verde National Park, I saw a sign for another national monument. Of course I turned down the road, thinking it was going to be just down the road… an hour later we were in Utah and the Hovenweep National Monument. It was a pretty fun drive, but there was absolutely nothing out there… luckily we got gas before our adventure! After that, we made our way to the Grand Canyon, which was what started this whole epic road trip idea. They were having a “Star Party” that night so I was able to actually see the Milky Way!
