There is something about the way film renders shadows and details that can’t be replicated with digital photography no matter how hard we try. I never try and make my digital photographs look like film, and I never try to make my film photos look digital… I love them both for different reasons. Anyway, here are three photographs from Kristen and Robert’s wedding that I photographed in mid March. The first two were photographed using my Leica RE SLR and Kodak TMax 400 film pushed to 800. The photo on the left was shot with a 28/2.8 Leica R Lens (on 2.8) and the one on the right was shot with a 50/2.0 Leica R Lens (on 2.0). The square photograph under it was shot with my Holga on Fuji Pro 400H and was also pushed to 800. All three were shot at The Bienville House in New Orleans. More to come, I just scanned these and had to share

My new goal for my blog is to try and post all of the weddings and engagement sessions from last year that I haven’t uploaded yet! I have so many beautiful weddings to share with you guys, but I’ve been so busy shooting and editing that my poor blog has become super neglected! No more! Anyway, this beautiful wedding took place last October. The ceremony was at St. Mary’s Church and the reception was held at Meg’s grandmothers house in the New Orleans garden district. The cake and the yummy (YUMMY) colorful macaroons were from Sucre and the flowers were done by Harkins, The Florist. Oh! The amazing food was by Chef Mary Sonnier owner of The Uptowner. Enjoy the photographs and stay tuned for more this week!!

I have been excited about photographing Lauren and Matt’s wedding ever since they booked me last summer. In the first email I ever got from Lauren she told me that they were having their reception in the swamp section of the Audubon Zoo. I think I squealed when I read that! It gets even better… Lauren made boutonnieres, table arrangements, ring pulls, bouquets, and a zillion and a half other things for their wedding!!! This was the absolute epitome of a beautiful and elegant DIY wedding and I was so honored to be chosen as their photographer
Here is their sneak peek! I can’t wait to show you all of the Polaroids and film photographs I took!!!

Kellee and Mike are two of the coolest people I’ve ever met. They had their wedding at this really, REALLY cool venue in Culver City California called the Marrakesh House. It’s this beautiful eco friendly space with a pool and lights hung up in the courtyard. Their wedding was also my very first Jewish wedding. I was so nervous about it at first, but then I talked to the Rabbi (who is the sweetest person I’ve ever met!) and she explained all of the traditions and customs that they were going to be doing at their wedding. I also fell completely in love with the light in Los Angeles. Anyway, here are the photographs

Martini and Adam got married back in early October but I haven’t had a chance to share their wedding with you until now! They got married in the little garden next to the main part of the Beauregard Keyes House in the French quarter and had their reception at Muriel’s. I’m kind of obsessed with the Beauregard Keyes House now by the way. Not only does it have a courtyard, but there is a little garden. Little gardens are right up there in my book with courtyards and white twinkle lights! The gorgeous flowers were done by Nola Flora! Oh and there was a second line too
Enjoy the photos!
