Race and Religious New Orleans Wedding • Kara and James

Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

This post is a little different than a normal post. First of all, I am obsessed with Race and Religious. Utterly obsessed. It’s literally the most beautiful wedding venue in New Orleans, and it’s totally the kind of place that was meant to be photographed on film. Which is where this post is going :D I haven’t finished editing digital photographs from Kara and James’s wedding yet, but I got the film ones back today and I had to blog them. There are a couple shots from my Holga (the square ones) and the rest were shot on my Pentax ME Super or my Leica RE using a 50/2.0 lens (on both!). I used Kodak Portra 400 and 800 film (I think I pushed the 800 a stop or two) and Kodak TMAX 400 (pushed to 800 I think!). I also think some of the end shots were taken Kodak 3200, but it may have been Ilford Delta 3200. I can’t remember!! Anyway, photographs like this are the reason I love film photography so much. In all honesty I wish I could shoot 100% of my weddings with film. The tones and the colors are perfect. Everything about it makes me so blissfully happy :) I hope you guys enjoy the photos as much as I do :D

Sneak Peek: Jessica and Mark • Married!!!

Sunday, October 23rd, 2011

Jessica is the type of person that makes you who instantly makes you smile just because you’re in the same room as her. Combine that with Mark’s kindness and sensitivity and you have one of the sweetest, most genuine couples I’ve ever photographed. I had so much fun being apart of their wedding today! Here is their sneak peek :D YAY! <3

French Quarter Wedding

Sneak Peek: Lisa and Durke • Married!!!

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

I have a special place in my heart just for elopements. Seriously, I love them. They make me cry EVERY SINGLE TIME! Like, hard core cry. There is something so brave, wonderful and romantic about it and I get SO excited when someone contacts me and wants me to photograph one! Lisa and Durke’s beautiful ceremony was no exception to my tear rule. Yes, I cried, and then we laughed, walked around the French Quarter and took super fun photographs! When I was looking through their photos this afternoon to choose one for their sneak peek, this one instantly stood out because you can just see how blissfully happy they are to be together. I literally tear up thinking about it! Sooo, here is their sneak peek :D YAY for elopements!

French Quarter Elopement

Sneak Peek: Kate and Chris • Married!!!!

Saturday, October 1st, 2011

I can not say enough about Kate and Chris. I think Kate and I are the SAME PERSON! Right down to the Polaroid Land Camera 250 (THE same one that I have!!!) that they used in their photobooth!!! I was so excited. Plus, Kate has the coolest dreds ever. Seriously. It was crazy because we never had a chance to meet before the wedding, but I know I’ve seen her around New Orleans because of her hair!!! Anyway, here is their sneak peek! Taken on a Zeiss Lens :) I may be abandoning my love for Leica after this… maybe :)

Degas House Wedding New Orleans • Elizabeth and Jared

Thursday, July 21st, 2011

Elizabeth and Jared are of the sweetest and most wonderful people I have ever met. Being able to photograph people who love each other so much is one of the most amazing things in the world, and I’m so glad that I got to spend the day with them. They got married at the Degas House and their flowers were done by my favourite florist, Nola Flora! I’m sure you guys will notice all of the different looking photographs too! Some were done on my Polaroids with film from The Impossible Project, some on Black and White film, and some on my new Hasselblad (all of the square ones)!!!! I hope you guys like them, and I promise to be a better blogger in the next few weeks :)
