Kathryn and Derek • Engaged!!

Wednesday, May 11th, 2011

This has to be one of the cutest engagement sessions I’ve ever shot :D We took these in Audubon Park by the tree of life… we then walked over the train tracks for a few with the balloons… I’m sure you guys can guess already, but I was VERY excited about the balloons… and the bubbles… and well, the entire engagement session :D

Why I Love Film

Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

There is something about the way film renders shadows and details that can’t be replicated with digital photography no matter how hard we try. I never try and make my digital photographs look like film, and I never try to make my film photos look digital… I love them both for different reasons. Anyway, here are three photographs from Kristen and Robert’s wedding that I photographed in mid March. The first two were photographed using my Leica RE SLR and Kodak TMax 400 film pushed to 800. The photo on the left was shot with a 28/2.8 Leica R Lens (on 2.8) and the one on the right was shot with a 50/2.0 Leica R Lens (on 2.0). The square photograph under it was shot with my Holga on Fuji Pro 400H and was also pushed to 800. All three were shot at The Bienville House in New Orleans. More to come, I just scanned these and had to share :)

Garden District New Orleans Wedding • Meg and David

Monday, April 4th, 2011

My new goal for my blog is to try and post all of the weddings and engagement sessions from last year that I haven’t uploaded yet! I have so many beautiful weddings to share with you guys, but I’ve been so busy shooting and editing that my poor blog has become super neglected! No more! Anyway, this beautiful wedding took place last October. The ceremony was at St. Mary’s Church and the reception was held at Meg’s grandmothers house in the New Orleans garden district. The cake and the yummy (YUMMY) colorful macaroons were from Sucre and the flowers were done by Harkins, The Florist. Oh! The amazing food was by Chef Mary Sonnier owner of The Uptowner. Enjoy the photographs and stay tuned for more this week!!

Engagement sessions are awesome. They give couples a chance to dress up (or down!) and just play and fun :D Today I took Jessica and Devin to this awesome coffee shop in the French Quarter called Royal Blend. It’s the cutest coffee shop ever and has a wonderful courtyard! Not only is it cute, but the coffee is awesome :D Thank you to my super awesome assitant Hannah for introducing this place to me!!! Anyway, here is Jessica and Devin’s sneak peek :D I can’t wait to photograph their wedding!!!
